From Jeddah to which city in Turkey?

Bought a flat in Turkey? Here’s how we ship its furniture from Jeddah
Many of our Jeddah customers have bought flats in Istanbul, Trabzon, Bursa or Antalya and want to furnish them with furniture they know and trust, or with pieces from their Jeddah home. That’s possible, but it differs from moving a whole household for someone relocating there:
- Title deed (tapu) or rental contract: among the most important papers looked at when clearing furniture in Turkey.
- Used furniture: treated as personal effects under their conditions, while new items in their cartons may be treated as goods.
- Appliances: their brands and serial numbers go on the inventory, and they’re preferably not duplicated.
- Measurements: measure your flat’s entrances and lift in Turkey before shipping, as a large sofa may not fit some flats.
We review these points with the broker in Turkey before the container is closed, so the shipment doesn’t arrive and then wait for a missing paper.

Packing valuables in Jeddah homes
Jeddah homes hold paintings, antiques, chandeliers and serving sets whose value to their owners goes beyond price. These are the pieces we take most care with:

- Paintings in protective cardboard sleeves with reinforced corners, and large ones in wooden crates.
- Chandeliers have their crystal parts removed and wrapped one by one.
- Books in small cartons that aren’t too heavy, since large ones tear.
- Vases and antiques in bubble wrap, then paper, then double-wall cartons.
- We add moisture-absorbing sachets to the cartons, as Jeddah’s air is humid and the journey is by sea.
Loading in Jeddah
In residential towers we coordinate a time for the service lift with building management, then move your belongings to a closed truck and into the container. At villas the container stands at the door. Shared containers are consolidated at our warehouse, with each customer’s items marked by their own colour and number.

Car shipping from Jeddah to Turkey
Cars are shipped from Jeddah inside a closed container, covered and secured with chocks and straps, and photographed before closing. One car goes in a 20 ft container, a car with furniture in a 40 ft, and a 40 ft can take two cars on a steel rack.

But bringing cars into Turkey is restricted: foreigners are usually allowed a temporary import tied to their residence and conditions on the car’s age, and permanent import carries high taxes. So we never book car shipping before reviewing your case. The papers from Jeddah: a valid registration, no fines or liens, an export request through Absher or the traffic department with the plates handed in, and copies of your passport, iqama and driving licence.
Air freight from Jeddah to Turkey
From King Abdulaziz International Airport to Istanbul Airport in three to five working days. It suits documents, clothes, small devices, gifts and what you need in your first days in Turkey before the container arrives.

It’s charged on the greater of actual and volumetric weight, so weigh up box sizes before shipping.
Serving Jeddah and its surroundings

We also collect from Makkah, Taif, Rabigh, Al Lith and Al Kamil, and bring the items to Jeddah to sail from its port.
Shipping goods from Jeddah to Turkey
Jeddah traders send perfumes, incense, clothing, fabrics, packaged dates and many other products to Turkey. We stack the goods on pallets, prepare the commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin, and ship them in a shared or private container. Food and cosmetics usually need certificates before entering Turkey, so ask us early.

- A detailed inventory in English or Turkish with appliance brands and serial numbers.
- Tapu, rental contract or residence permit in Turkey, or a return certificate for Turkish citizens.
- A commercial invoice for goods, and car export papers if any.
Prohibited items to know about

- Meat and fresh food, and plants beyond the permitted number.
- Medicines in commercial quantities or without a prescription.

Tips before shipping from Jeddah to Turkey
- Make sure your name on the bill of lading is exactly as in your passport.
- Don’t ship new appliances in their original cartons unless you’re ready for their duties.
- Coordinate the container date with your travel, as customs look at your entry date into Turkey.
- Photograph your furniture before packing and keep the photos.
Delivery inside Turkey
After clearance, the container or your belongings travel by truck to your address. In Istanbul we reach the European side, such as Başakşehir, Beylikdüzü, Esenyurt, Fatih and Bayrampaşa, and the Asian side, such as Üsküdar, Kadıköy, Ataşehir and Pendik. Outside Istanbul we deliver to Bursa, Sapanca, Yalova, Trabzon, Ankara, Konya, Antalya, Adana, Gaziantep and İzmir. The crew carries everything inside and reassembles the furniture if that is part of the agreement.
Insuring your shipment to Turkey
The journey to Turkey involves road, then sea, then road again, with lifting and unloading at every stage. Good packing prevents most damage, but we also offer cargo insurance calculated as a percentage of the value you declare, and recommend it for expensive appliances, cars and furniture that is hard to replace. We photograph your belongings before loading so any claim is clear and quick.
