What sets shipping from Jeddah to Oman apart:
- The longest land route between Saudi cities and Oman, about 2,300 km.
- Double packing that withstands heat and vibration.
- Air from King Abdulaziz Airport saves days for urgent items.
- Cars on an enclosed carrier all the way.
The shipment’s route from Jeddah to Oman
| Stage | Details | Approx. time |
|---|---|---|
| Collection and packing | At your home in Jeddah, with dismantling and inventory | One day |
| Jeddah → Riyadh → Empty Quarter crossing | About 1,900 km | Two to three days |
| Crossing and clearance | Empty Quarter, then Ramlat Khaylah | Hours |
| Crossing → your address | Ibri, then Muscat and the other wilayats | One day |
The truck covers the whole road without changing its load, from Jeddah to Riyadh, then south-east to Haradh and the Empty Quarter road. Because the distance is long, we consolidate a few items on shared trucks that leave on set dates.
Which crossing does your shipment from Jeddah use?
| Route | Crossing | Usually suits | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Empty Quarter road | Saudi Empty Quarter crossing → Omani Ramlat Khaylah crossing | Most shipments to Muscat, Al Dakhiliyah, Al Dhahirah and Salalah | The Saudi road to the crossing is about 564 km from the Al Batha road junction through the desert |
| Via the UAE | Al Batha → Ghuwaifat, then the UAE–Oman crossings | Some shipments to Buraimi, North Al Batinah and Musandam | Needs extra transit papers; we use it when it suits the address better |
Jeddah shipments mostly enter Oman from the Empty Quarter crossing to Ramlat Khaylah. Sea from Jeddah to Sohar or Salalah goes round the Arabian Peninsula, and we only use it for large goods containers when it suits better.
Shipping prices from Jeddah to Oman

Transit time and delivery areas in Oman

Packing for the longest road to Oman
A shipment from Jeddah to Muscat covers more than two thousand kilometres, much of it in the Empty Quarter. So we pack with heavier materials than usual: two layers for sofas and beds, double-wall cartons for appliances, wooden crates for glass and antiques, and moisture-absorbing sachets because the belongings go from Jeddah’s humidity to the dry desert.
We put on every carton its number and the room it came from, so the delivery crew in Oman puts everything in its place.
Packing furniture in Jeddah

Jeddah homes usually have mirrors, paintings, china sets and wooden furniture, so we prepare:
- Protective frames for mirrors, paintings and glass.
- Wooden crates for antiques and chandeliers.
- Divided cartons for dishes, each piece wrapped on its own.
- Wrapping wood once it is dry, then blankets.
- Moisture-absorbing sachets inside appliance and clothes cartons.
Loading in Jeddah and the truck type
Many Jeddah homes are flats in towers, so we use the freight lift or an external hoist for big pieces. We stack the load to withstand more than two thousand kilometres: heavy at the bottom, fragile on top, gaps filled.

| Truck type | Best for | How it is priced |
|---|---|---|
| Shared truck | Cartons, one or two rooms, a few appliances | Per item or per cubic metre |
| Private dyna or medium truck | A small flat or an office | One price for the whole trip |
| 13 to 15 m closed trailer | A villa or large home, or goods | One price for the whole trip |
| Refrigerated truck | Dates and sensitive food | Per pallet or per trip |
| Enclosed car carrier | One or more cars | Per car, by size |
A few items are consolidated at our Jeddah warehouse and loaded onto the shared truck heading to Oman.
Car shipping from Jeddah to Oman
We collect the car from your home in Jeddah, clean and photograph it, fit a protective cover, then load it onto an enclosed car carrier that covers the whole road free of dust.

Oman has conditions for importing used cars from GCC countries, set by the Royal Oman Police, including that a private car is less than seven years old, and that an export certificate issued by the car’s registration authority in its home country is presented instead of a clearance certificate. These conditions may be amended, so we review your car’s details with the broker in Oman before booking. Its papers from the Kingdom: a valid registration, no fines or liens, an export request through Absher or the traffic department with the plates handed in, the purchase invoice or sale contract, and a copy of your ID or iqama.
If you will drive your own car to Oman for a visit and bring it back, that is an ordinary crossing with valid insurance covering Oman and the car’s papers, and needs no shipping.
Air freight from Jeddah to Oman
Air freight from Jeddah to Oman goes from King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah to Muscat International Airport, or Salalah Airport for Dhofar shipments, and usually takes one to three working days.

Air suits:
- Documents, contracts and certificates.
- Small devices such as laptops and phones in their original boxes.
- Commercial samples and urgent spare parts.
- Gifts and light personal items.
It is charged on the greater of actual and volumetric weight; send us the weight and dimensions and we will work it out for you. Many of our customers send a suitcase of urgent things by air and leave the rest of the home to the truck.
Shipping goods from Jeddah to Oman
From Jeddah traders send fabrics, perfumes, food, appliances and spare parts to Oman. Small quantities go on a shared truck, large ones on a full truck, or in a sea container to Sohar if that is cheaper for a big quantity.
Jeddah districts we collect from
Al Hamra, Al Rawdah, Al Zahra, Al Salamah, Al Naeem, Al Mohammadiyah and North Obhur in the north; Al Safa, Al Marwah, Al Faisaliyah and Al Rabwah in the centre; Al Aziziyah, Al Rehab and Al Samer in the east; Al Balad, Al Sharafiyah and Al Baghdadiyah; and Al Hamdaniyah, Al Sawari, Al Sanabel and Al Jamiah in the south.
Will duties be charged on your belongings in Oman?
Used household belongings are not usually treated like commercial goods, but Omani customs assesses each shipment on its own and asks for proof that the contents are personal and that you are Omani or a resident of Oman. The main papers:
- A copy of the receiver’s passport and Omani ID card or residence card.
- Proof of moving to live or work in Oman for non-Omanis, such as a work visa or lease.
- A numbered packing list with the contents of every carton and item.
- An official authorisation for the customs broker.
- Avoid shipping new boxed appliances in quantity, as they may be treated as goods.
We tell you plainly what may delay a shipment: medicines, new appliances in quantity, and a vague packing list. We arrange their papers before the road.
GCC-origin goods and the customs exemption
Saudi Arabia and Oman are members of the GCC customs union, and goods of GCC national origin enter Oman free of customs duties when accompanied by a valid certificate of origin. Goods of foreign origin are treated under the customs union rules and may attract duties or Omani VAT depending on their situation. So we ask traders for the commercial invoice, certificate of origin and packing list before loading.
Documents required for shipping to Oman
- A copy of the sender’s ID or iqama and passport.
- A copy of the receiver’s passport and ID or residence card in Oman.
- A numbered packing list.
- For goods: a commercial invoice, certificate of origin and packing list.
- For cars: the export certificate from the traffic department and the purchase invoice.
- An authorisation for the clearing company in Oman.
What happens at the border?
We send copies of the papers to the broker before the truck arrives, so preparation starts before it reaches the border. This matters at a remote desert crossing, where anything missing means a long wait. After release the truck continues to your address.
Do you need insurance?
If your shipment includes a car, expensive appliances or furniture that is hard to replace, insurance is worth its small cost. It is calculated as a percentage of the declared value, and we document the items’ condition with photos during packing.
What cannot be shipped to Oman
- Flammable materials, gas cylinders and fuel.
- Weapons, ammunition and anything resembling them.
- Narcotics, psychotropic substances, and medicines without a prescription and permission.
- Counterfeit goods and anything banned under either country’s rules.
- Fresh food and meat without health certificates.
- Loose lithium batteries by air.
