Students and residents: a few boxes
Many of our Madinah customers are students who have finished their studies or residents returning with few belongings: books, clothes and gifts. For them we suggest a shared container by sea for many or heavy boxes, and air for a few urgent ones, numbering the boxes and listing their contents since Moroccan customs check them against the list.
Packing books and belongings

- Books in small sturdy cartons kept to about 20 kg.
- Copies of the Quran and precious books wrapped individually.
- Rugs rolled and tied.
- Sofas in plastic then blankets.
Loading and transport to Jeddah
We load your belongings into a closed truck to the consolidation warehouse or straight into the container, which then travels on the Madinah–Jeddah highway to the port.

Car shipping from Madinah to Morocco
We fit a protective cover, load the car into the container and secure it, then it travels to Jeddah port.

Morocco allows the import of used cars with customs duties that vary by the car’s age, value and engine size, and a retired Moroccan returning permanently may benefit from a large reduction on these duties under the rules in force. So we review your case before booking. The car’s papers from the Kingdom: a valid registration, no fines or liens, an export request through Absher or the traffic department with the plates handed in, the purchase invoice, and copies of your passport and iqama.
Air freight from Madinah to Morocco
From Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz Airport, or via Jeddah depending on flights, to Mohammed V Airport within three to six working days, for documents, certificates and a few parcels.

Customs exemption for returning Moroccans
A Moroccan living in the Kingdom who returns to settle in Morocco can usually bring in used furniture, appliances and personal effects free of duties, under conditions Moroccan customs usually apply as follows:
- A change-of-residence certificate, or a sworn statement legalised by the Moroccan consulate in Riyadh or Jeddah.
- Proof of your residence and work in the Kingdom, such as the iqama or employment contract.
- A detailed inventory, dated and signed by you.
- Household appliances are usually accepted at one per type, and other items have a value ceiling.
- Belongings are imported in one or at most two shipments, through the same customs office, within a set period of the certificate date.
These conditions may be amended, so we write the inventory in Arabic and French to match what you’ll submit, and review the papers with the broker in Morocco before the container is closed.
Documents required
- A copy of the sender’s passport and the receiver’s national ID card in Morocco.
- A numbered inventory in Arabic and French.
- The change-of-residence certificate for permanent returnees.
- A commercial invoice and certificate of origin for goods.
- Car export papers if any, and the bill of lading, which we issue at loading.
Cargo insurance
The voyage to Morocco is one of the longest sea routes from the Kingdom, passing the Suez Canal and then the Strait of Gibraltar. So we recommend cargo insurance as a percentage of the declared value, especially for cars and expensive appliances, and photograph your belongings before loading.
Prohibited and restricted items
- Flammable materials, gas cylinders and fuel.
- Weapons, ammunition and anything resembling them.
- Medicines in commercial quantities or without a prescription.
- Fresh food, meat and plants.
- Loose lithium batteries by air.
