Madinah to Jordan in a few useful lines:
- Route: north via Tabuk to Halat Ammar, shorter for your city than the Al Haditha route.
- Time: three to five working days to Amman.
- Books: small reinforced cartons, numbered by title.
- Urgent items: by air from Madinah airport or via Jeddah.
The shipment’s route from Madinah to Jordan
| Stage | Details | Approx. time |
|---|---|---|
| Collection and packing | At your home in Madinah | One day |
| Madinah → Tabuk → Halat Ammar | About 800 km north | About one day |
| Crossing and clearance | Halat Ammar, then Al Mudawwara | Hours to a day |
| Al Mudawwara → your address | Maan and Aqaba, then Amman on the Desert Highway | One day |
From Madinah the truck does not need to head east to Al Haditha; the northern road via Tabuk is shorter and enters Jordan from the south. So shipments reach Aqaba, Maan and Karak sooner, then continue to Amman and Zarqa.
Which crossing does your shipment from Madinah use?
| Saudi → Jordanian crossing | Area | Usually used by shipments from | Closest to |
|---|---|---|---|
| Al Haditha → Al Omari | Al Qurayyat, Al Jouf | Riyadh, Qassim, the Eastern Province and Hail | Amman, Zarqa, Mafraq and Irbid |
| Halat Ammar → Al Mudawwara | Tabuk | Jeddah, Makkah, Madinah and Tabuk | Maan, Aqaba, Karak and Tafilah, then Amman on the Desert Highway |
Halat Ammar is the crossing for Madinah shipments to Jordan. From there to Al Mudawwara and Maan, and from Maan north on the Desert Highway to Amman, or south to Aqaba.

Transit time from Madinah to Jordan’s governorates
| Governorate in Jordan | Approx. door-to-door time by land |
|---|---|
| Amman, Zarqa, Salt and Madaba | 3 – 5 working days |
| Irbid, Mafraq, Jerash, Ajloun and Ramtha | 4 – 6 working days |
| Karak, Tafilah and Maan | 3 – 6 working days |

The time runs from loading in Madinah to delivery in Jordan. Shipments reach Irbid and the north about a day after Amman, because they enter from the south.
Jordanian students and families in Madinah
Madinah has many Jordanian families working in education and health, and students at the Islamic University and Taibah University. At graduation or the end of a contract, the shipment is usually books, personal belongings and medium-sized furniture. Books are heavier than they look, so we put them in small reinforced cartons that stay within what a carton can bear, and write each carton’s number and contents on it.
For a small shipment, the shared truck saves a great deal compared with a private one.
Packing furniture in Madinah

We prepare the right packing for each kind of item in your home:
- Books in small reinforced cartons, sorted and numbered.
- Copies of the Quran and valuable books wrapped one by one.
- Wardrobes and beds dismantled, with screws numbered.
- Appliances in double-wall cartons, screens in padded boxes.
- Dishes wrapped piece by piece in divided cartons.
Loading in Madinah and the truck type
We load the truck at your door, or move a few items to our warehouse for the shared truck. Heavy cartons such as books go at the bottom and fragile items on top.

| Truck type | Best for | How it is priced |
|---|---|---|
| Shared truck | One or two rooms, cartons, a few appliances | Per item or per cubic metre |
| Private dyna or medium truck | A small flat or an office | One price for the whole trip |
| 13 m closed trailer | A villa or large home, or furniture with goods | One price for the whole trip |
| Car carrier | One or more cars | Per car, by size |
The load is strapped and the truck closed, and we send you a photo of the load before it sets off.
Car shipping from Madinah to Jordan
We collect your car from your home in Madinah, fit a protective cover, then load it onto an enclosed car carrier and secure it with straps and chocks.

Jordan sets conditions on importing used cars, the main one being the car’s age counted from its year of manufacture. These conditions are amended by government decisions from time to time, and duties differ between petrol, hybrid and electric cars and by engine size and value. So we send your car’s details to the broker in Jordan before booking and tell you what applies to it, so a car that cannot be cleared never sets off. Its papers from the Kingdom: a valid registration, no fines or liens, an export request through Absher or the traffic department with the plates handed in, the purchase invoice or sale contract, and a copy of your passport and iqama or ID.
If you will drive your own car to Jordan for a visit and bring it back, that is a temporary entry on a customs passbook (carnet/triptyque) and needs no shipping; a permanent move means exporting the car and shipping it on a carrier.
Air freight from Madinah to Jordan
When a shipment cannot wait for the road trip, we send it by air from Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz Airport in Madinah, or via Jeddah depending on the next cargo flight to Queen Alia International Airport in Amman, usually arriving in one to three working days including clearance.

Air suits what is light and needed quickly:
- Documents, university certificates and official papers.
- Small devices such as laptops and phones in their original boxes.
- Clothes, gifts and personal items you need as soon as you arrive.
- Spare parts and commercial samples.
The price is charged on the greater of actual and volumetric weight, so a large light carton may be charged as if it were heavy. Send us the weight and dimensions and we will work out the chargeable weight for you. Furniture and large appliances are far cheaper by land and arrive only a few days later.
Shipping goods from Madinah to Jordan
Dates, especially Madinah Ajwa, along with gifts, perfumes and packaged food, are among the most common shipments from Madinah to Jordan. We pack them in sealed cartons, prepare their papers and ship them on the shared truck or a full truck.
Madinah districts we collect from
Al Aziziyah, Al Awali, Quba, Al Anabis, Sayed Al Shuhada, Al Khalidiyah, Al Uraid, Al Iskan, King Fahd, Al Difa, Al Jurf, East Harrah, West Harrah, Shuran and Al Saih, as well as Yanbu, Badr and AlUla.
Will your furniture be exempt from Jordanian customs?
The question Jordanian families ask us most before shipping is about the exemption. The answer is that a permanent returnee’s furniture is usually exempt, under conditions set by the Jordan Customs Department, chiefly:
- You have lived outside Jordan for a year or more.
- Proof that your residence in the Kingdom has ended: a cancelled iqama, the end of your work contract or a resignation, a new work contract in Jordan, a certified lease or title deed for a home, or your children’s transfer to Jordanian schools.
- The owner attends in person or by official authorisation, and the husband or wife has arrived in Jordan.
- An original packing list of the furniture, appliances and items.
- The exemption is granted once; anyone who used it and then went back to live abroad cannot get a new one until five years have passed.
- Any furniture that follows later must arrive within six months of your arrival date.
Our advice is not to split the home across many shipments: put it in one truck whenever possible, which is easier to clear and cheaper. We review your papers with the broker before the truck moves.
Documents required for shipping to Jordan
- A copy of the sender’s passport and iqama or ID, and a copy of the receiver’s ID in Jordan.
- A numbered packing list with the contents of every carton and item.
- Proof that your residence in the Kingdom has ended, for permanent returnees.
- An authorisation for the clearing company in Jordan.
- For goods: a commercial invoice, certificate of origin and packing list.
- For cars: export papers from the traffic department and the purchase invoice.
Crossing and customs clearance
We send copies of the papers to the broker in Jordan before the truck arrives, so preparation starts before it reaches the border. After inspection and release, the truck continues to your address, and we tell you its arrival a day ahead.
Items outside the exemption, such as commercial goods and new appliances in quantity, are subject to customs duties and Jordanian sales tax, and we explain that before loading, not after.
Protecting your belongings on the road
Good packing prevents most damage, and insurance covers what packing cannot. We offer it as a percentage of the shipment’s value and the choice is yours; either way, we photograph the important pieces before the truck is closed.
What cannot be shipped to Jordan
- Flammable materials, gas cylinders, fuel and paints.
- Weapons, ammunition and anything resembling them.
- Medicines in commercial quantities or without a prescription.
- Fresh food, meat, plants and soil.
- Loose lithium batteries by air.
- Counterfeit goods or anything banned under either country’s rules.
Steps to ship from Madinah to Jordan
- You send photos or a list of your belongings and the governorate you are moving to in Jordan.

- The crew arrives on time to dismantle, pack, list and load.
