The time runs from loading in Makkah to delivery at your door. We avoid Makkah’s peak periods, such as Hajj and Ramadan, by fixing a suitable loading date in advance.
Shipping from Makkah during the seasons
Makkah is crowded during Hajj and Ramadan, and truck movement is restricted on some roads and in districts near the Haram at those times. So we fix the loading date with you days ahead and choose a time when the truck can reach your door, or move your belongings in a smaller vehicle to a truck waiting outside the busy area.
Many of our customers in Makkah are Jordanian families who have worked in education, health and trade for years, and on their return it is usually a full home, so we prepare a private truck for it.
Packing furniture in Makkah

Makkah homes usually have serving sets, chandeliers and majlis seating, which need packing that can take a long road:
- Chandeliers taken apart, with each crystal piece wrapped on its own in a dedicated box.
- Serving sets, cups and coffee pots in divided cartons.
- Majlis seating and sofas in plastic, then blankets.
- Wardrobes and beds dismantled, with screws numbered.
- Mirrors and paintings in protective frames.
Loading in Makkah and the truck type
In Makkah’s many-storey buildings we use an external hoist for large pieces, so they do not have to go down the stairs or scrape the walls. The truck is then loaded: heavy at the bottom, fragile on top, straps tight.

| Truck type | Best for | How it is priced |
|---|---|---|
| Shared truck | One or two rooms, cartons, a few appliances | Per item or per cubic metre |
| Private dyna or medium truck | A small flat or an office | One price for the whole trip |
| 13 m closed trailer | A villa or large home, or furniture with goods | One price for the whole trip |
| Car carrier | One or more cars | Per car, by size |
If you have only a few items, they are moved to our Jeddah warehouse to be loaded onto the shared truck heading to Jordan.
Car shipping from Makkah to Jordan
We collect the car from your home in Makkah, clean, photograph and cover it with a protective cover, then load it onto an enclosed car carrier.

Jordan sets conditions on importing used cars, the main one being the car’s age counted from its year of manufacture. These conditions are amended by government decisions from time to time, and duties differ between petrol, hybrid and electric cars and by engine size and value. So we send your car’s details to the broker in Jordan before booking and tell you what applies to it, so a car that cannot be cleared never sets off. Its papers from the Kingdom: a valid registration, no fines or liens, an export request through Absher or the traffic department with the plates handed in, the purchase invoice or sale contract, and a copy of your passport and iqama or ID.
If you will drive your own car to Jordan for a visit and bring it back, that is a temporary entry on a customs passbook (carnet/triptyque) and needs no shipping; a permanent move means exporting the car and shipping it on a carrier.
Delivery in Jordan
After release at Al Mudawwara the truck continues to your address, in Amman, Zarqa, Irbid, Karak, Aqaba or elsewhere. The crew unloads the furniture, carries it inside and reassembles bedrooms and chandeliers if that is part of the agreement.

Air freight from Makkah to Jordan
When a shipment cannot wait for the road trip, we send it by air via King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, about an hour from Makkah to Queen Alia International Airport in Amman, usually arriving in one to three working days including clearance.
Air suits what is light and needed quickly:
- Documents, university certificates and official papers.
- Small devices such as laptops and phones in their original boxes.
- Clothes, gifts and personal items you need as soon as you arrive.
- Spare parts and commercial samples.
The price is charged on the greater of actual and volumetric weight, so a large light carton may be charged as if it were heavy. Send us the weight and dimensions and we will work out the chargeable weight for you. Furniture and large appliances are far cheaper by land and arrive only a few days later.
Shipping goods from Makkah to Jordan
From Makkah we ship gifts, rugs, perfumes, dates and bottled Zamzam water within permitted quantities to Jordan, as well as commercial goods with their papers. We stack them on pallets, prepare the invoice and certificate of origin, and ship on a shared or full truck.
Makkah districts we collect from
Al Aziziyah, Al Shawqiyah, Al Naseem, Al Zahir, Al Awali, Al Rusaifah, Al Kakiyah, Al Sharaie, Al Nawariyah, Al Hamra, Al Utaibiyah, Jarwal, Al Hijrah, Bat-ha Quraish and Al Sabhani, as well as Al Jumum, Bahrah and Al Kamil.
Furniture exemption for returning Jordanian expatriates
A Jordanian expatriate who ends their residence in the Kingdom and returns to settle in Jordan can bring in their furniture and household items free of duties, under conditions set by the Jordan Customs Department, chiefly:
- You have lived outside Jordan for a year or more.
- Proof that your residence in the Kingdom has ended: a cancelled iqama, the end of your work contract or a resignation, a new work contract in Jordan, a certified lease or title deed for a home, or your children’s transfer to Jordanian schools.
- The owner attends in person or by official authorisation, and the husband or wife has arrived in Jordan.
- An original packing list of the furniture, appliances and items.
- The exemption is granted once; anyone who used it and then went back to live abroad cannot get a new one until five years have passed.
- Any furniture that follows later must arrive within six months of your arrival date.
These conditions may be amended, so we write the packing list to match the truck item by item and review your file with the broker in Jordan before loading. We also time the shipment with your travel so you are in Jordan when your belongings arrive.
Documents required for shipping to Jordan
- A copy of the sender’s passport and iqama or ID, and a copy of the receiver’s ID in Jordan.
- A numbered packing list with the contents of every carton and item.
- Proof that your residence in the Kingdom has ended, for permanent returnees.
- An authorisation for the clearing company in Jordan.
- For goods: a commercial invoice, certificate of origin and packing list.
- For cars: export papers from the traffic department and the purchase invoice.
Clearance at the Al Omari crossing
The truck leaves the Saudi side on an export declaration prepared in advance, then enters Jordan, where the broker files the customs declaration and the load is checked against the packing list. When the list is accurate and the exemption is ready, all of this goes quickly.
Items outside the exemption, such as commercial goods and new appliances in quantity, are subject to customs duties and Jordanian sales tax, and we explain that before loading, not after.
Cargo insurance
The road to Jordan is long, crossing hundreds of kilometres of desert, so we pack for a long journey, not a move across town. Even so, we recommend insuring the shipment for a small percentage of its declared value, especially cars, expensive appliances and antiques, and we photograph your belongings before loading.
What cannot be shipped to Jordan
- Flammable materials, gas cylinders, fuel and paints.
- Weapons, ammunition and anything resembling them.
- Medicines in commercial quantities or without a prescription.
- Fresh food, meat, plants and soil.
- Loose lithium batteries by air.
- Counterfeit goods or anything banned under either country’s rules.
Steps to ship from Makkah to Jordan
