Shipping to Jordan from the first line:
- Land: the main route for furniture and goods, on a shared or private truck.
- Sea: a container from Jeddah to Aqaba for large homes and goods.
- Air: for documents, parcels and urgent items.
- Permanent returnees: household furniture is usually duty-free under the Customs Department’s conditions.
- Cars: on an enclosed carrier, after confirming Jordan allows them to be cleared.
Shipping methods from Saudi Arabia to Jordan
| Method | Best for | Approx. time to Amman |
|---|---|---|
| Shared truck | One or two rooms, cartons, appliances | 4 – 8 working days |
| Private truck | A full flat or villa, an office, goods | 3 – 6 working days |
| Enclosed car carrier | One or more cars | 3 – 6 working days |
| Sea container from Jeddah | A large home or goods filling a container | 7 – 12 days |
| Air freight | Documents, parcels, urgent items | 1 – 3 days |
Jordan is the Kingdom’s land neighbour, so land remains the route for most furniture and goods: the truck is loaded at your door and unloaded at your door, with no ports and no unloading and reloading. We only use sea from Jeddah, when the shipment is large or bound for Aqaba, and air for urgent, light items.
Which crossing will your shipment use?
| Saudi → Jordanian crossing | Area | Usually used by shipments from | Closest to |
|---|---|---|---|
| Al Haditha → Al Omari | Al Qurayyat, Al Jouf | Riyadh, Qassim, the Eastern Province and Hail | Amman, Zarqa, Mafraq and Irbid |
| Halat Ammar → Al Mudawwara | Tabuk | Jeddah, Makkah, Madinah and Tabuk | Maan, Aqaba, Karak and Tafilah, then Amman on the Desert Highway |
We choose the crossing by your city in the Kingdom and your governorate in Jordan, not by habit. A shipment from Riyadh to Irbid leaves via Al Haditha, one from Jeddah to Aqaba via Halat Ammar, and every day saved on the road is a day less for your belongings on it.
Shipping to Jordan by your region in the Kingdom
| Collection region | Usual crossing | Approx. time to Amman |
|---|---|---|
| Riyadh and Al Kharj | Al Haditha | 3 – 5 working days |
| Qassim and Hail | Al Haditha | 3 – 5 working days |
| Jeddah and Taif | Halat Ammar | 4 – 6 working days |
| Makkah | Halat Ammar | 4 – 6 working days |
| Madinah and Yanbu | Halat Ammar | 3 – 5 working days |
| Dammam, Khobar and Jubail | Al Haditha | 4 – 6 working days |
| Al Ahsa | Al Haditha | 4 – 6 working days |
| Tabuk, Al Jouf and Al Qurayyat | Halat Ammar or Al Haditha | 2 – 4 working days |
| Abha, Jazan and Najran | Halat Ammar via Jeddah | 5 – 7 working days |
Northern Saudi cities are closer to Jordan than southern and eastern ones, so the time varies from city to city. Either way, we tell you the departure and expected arrival when you book.

| Irbid, Mafraq, Jerash, Ajloun and Ramtha | 4 – 7 working days |

What do we ship from Saudi Arabia to Jordan?

- Personal belongings: clothes, books and toys in numbered cartons.
- Electrical appliances: fridges, washing machines, air conditioners and screens with dedicated packing.
- Cars and motorcycles: on enclosed carriers or strapped pallets.
- Commercial goods: by the pallet or the full truck, with their papers.
- Dates and packaged food: in sealed cartons with their certificates.
- Equipment and tools: for workshops, offices and small factories.

Packing furniture for a long road to Jordan

From most Saudi cities the road to Jordan is over a thousand kilometres, mostly desert. So we do not pack as for a move across town, but for a long trip with heat, vibration and dust:
| Item | Packing method |
|---|---|
| Sofas and majlis seating | Plastic, then moving blankets, with cushions in bags |
| Wardrobes and beds | Dismantled, panels wrapped, screws numbered in bags |
| Fridges and washing machines | Emptied, dried, doors secured, then a carton or blankets |
| Screens | Dedicated boxes lined with foam |
| Glass and mirrors | Protective frames or wooden crates |
| Dishes | Each piece wrapped on its own in divided cartons |
| Chandeliers and antiques | Padded wooden crates |
We write on every carton its number and the room it came from, and record the number on the packing list, so the delivery crew in Jordan knows where everything goes.
Loading the truck and truck types
We build the load in layers: heavy at the bottom, fragile on top, gaps filled and straps tight, so not a single piece moves on the way. The truck is closed after the load is checked against the packing list.

| Truck type | Best for | How it is priced |
|---|---|---|
| Shared truck | One or two rooms, cartons, a few appliances | Per item or per cubic metre |
| Private dyna or medium truck | A small flat or an office | One price for the whole trip |
| 13 m closed trailer | A villa or large home, or furniture with goods | One price for the whole trip |
| Car carrier | One or more cars | Per car, by size |
A shared truck is cheaper for anyone with few items, but may wait a few days to fill. A private truck is faster, is loaded in a single day and suits full homes.
Car shipping from Saudi Arabia to Jordan
We collect your car from your home, clean it and photograph it from every side, fit a protective cover, then load it onto an enclosed car carrier and secure it with straps and chocks, so it reaches Jordan free of dust and scratches.

Jordan sets conditions on importing used cars, the main one being the car’s age counted from its year of manufacture. These conditions are amended by government decisions from time to time, and duties differ between petrol, hybrid and electric cars and by engine size and value. So we send your car’s details to the broker in Jordan before booking and tell you what applies to it, so a car that cannot be cleared never sets off. Its papers from the Kingdom: a valid registration, no fines or liens, an export request through Absher or the traffic department with the plates handed in, the purchase invoice or sale contract, and a copy of your passport and iqama or ID.
If you will drive your own car to Jordan for a visit and bring it back, that is a temporary entry on a customs passbook (carnet/triptyque) and needs no shipping; a permanent move means exporting the car and shipping it on a carrier.
Air freight from Saudi Arabia to Jordan
When a shipment cannot wait for the road trip, we send it by air from King Khalid Airport in Riyadh, King Abdulaziz in Jeddah, King Fahd in Dammam and Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz in Madinah to Queen Alia International Airport in Amman, usually arriving in one to three working days including clearance.

Air suits what is light and needed quickly:
- Documents, university certificates and official papers.
- Small devices such as laptops and phones in their original boxes.
- Clothes, gifts and personal items you need as soon as you arrive.
- Spare parts and commercial samples.
The price is charged on the greater of actual and volumetric weight, so a large light carton may be charged as if it were heavy. Send us the weight and dimensions and we will work out the chargeable weight for you. Furniture and large appliances are far cheaper by land and arrive only a few days later.
Sea freight from Jeddah to Aqaba
Aqaba is Jordan’s only port, facing Jeddah across the Red Sea. So we use sea from Jeddah when the home is large enough to fill a 20 or 40 ft container, when the goods are commercial in quantity, or when delivery is in Aqaba itself. The container is loaded at your door and sealed, reaches Aqaba in about 7 to 12 days including clearance, then continues by road to your address.
From Dammam, Riyadh and Qassim sea does not make sense, because the container would first travel by road to Jeddah, and a truck straight to Jordan is shorter and cheaper.
Shipping commercial goods to Jordan
For traders and companies we ship appliances, packaged food, dates, personal-care products, spare parts, fabrics and building materials from the Kingdom to Jordan. We stack the goods on wrapped pallets, prepare the commercial invoice, certificate of origin and packing list, and ship on a shared truck for small quantities, a full truck for large ones, or a sea container from Jeddah.
Commercial shipments are subject to customs duties and Jordanian sales tax by type of goods, declared by a licensed broker in Jordan. We send the papers to the broker before the truck arrives so it is not held at the border.
Permanent return to Jordan and the customs exemption
If you are a Jordanian returning for good after years in the Kingdom, your household furniture may enter Jordan without customs duties, under conditions set by the Jordan Customs Department, including:
- You have lived outside Jordan for a year or more.
- Proof that your residence in the Kingdom has ended: a cancelled iqama, the end of your work contract or a resignation, a new work contract in Jordan, a certified lease or title deed for a home, or your children’s transfer to Jordanian schools.
- The owner attends in person or by official authorisation, and the husband or wife has arrived in Jordan.
- An original packing list of the furniture, appliances and items.
- The exemption is granted once; anyone who used it and then went back to live abroad cannot get a new one until five years have passed.
- Any furniture that follows later must arrive within six months of your arrival date.
Because the six-month window starts on the day you arrive, we advise shipping the home a few days before you travel or straight after, not putting it off. We write the packing list carefully, as any mismatch between it and the load delays release.
Documents required for shipping to Jordan
- A copy of the sender’s passport and iqama or ID, and a copy of the receiver’s ID in Jordan.
- A numbered packing list with the contents of every carton and item.
- Proof that your residence in the Kingdom has ended, for permanent returnees.
- An authorisation for the clearing company in Jordan.
- For goods: a commercial invoice, certificate of origin and packing list.
- For cars: export papers from the traffic department and the purchase invoice.
What happens at the border?
At the Saudi crossing the export papers are stamped; at the Jordanian crossing the broker takes the file: the packing list, proof that your residence has ended if you are returning, and the car papers if any. The load is then checked and released to continue to your address.
Items outside the exemption, such as commercial goods and new appliances in quantity, are subject to customs duties and Jordanian sales tax, and we explain that before loading, not after.
Delivery across every governorate of Jordan
We deliver to Amman, Zarqa, Irbid, Salt, Madaba, Mafraq, Jerash, Ajloun, Karak, Tafilah, Maan, Aqaba, Ramtha and the areas around them. The crew unloads the furniture, carries it inside and reassembles bedrooms, wardrobes and chandeliers if that is part of the agreement, and you check the items against the packing list with us before signing.
Do you need insurance?
If your shipment includes a car, expensive appliances or furniture that is hard to replace, insurance is worth its small cost. It is calculated as a percentage of the declared value, and we document every item’s condition with photos during packing, so you have a record to refer to.
What cannot be shipped to Jordan
- Flammable materials, gas cylinders, fuel and paints.
- Weapons, ammunition and anything resembling them.
- Medicines in commercial quantities or without a prescription.
- Fresh food, meat, plants and soil.
- Loose lithium batteries by air.
- Counterfeit goods or anything banned under either country’s rules.
Tips before shipping to Jordan
- Start the exemption file before loading: cancelling the iqama or proving the end of your work takes days.
- Do not split the home across many shipments; it is harder to clear and more expensive.
- Before shipping, let go of what you will not need in Jordan, as every cubic metre counts.
- Keep documents, gold and medicines with you in your bag.
- Check Jordan’s conditions for your car before you sell or ship it.
- Empty and dry the fridge and washing machine the day before loading.
