What sets shipping from Jeddah to Jordan apart:
- Land: the most requested option for furniture, via Tabuk and Halat Ammar.
- Sea: a container to Aqaba for large homes and goods.
- Air: from King Abdulaziz Airport for parcels and documents.
- Cars: an enclosed carrier by land, or inside the container by sea.
The shipment’s route from Jeddah to Jordan
| Stage | Details | Approx. time |
|---|---|---|
| Collection and packing | At your home in Jeddah, with dismantling and inventory | One day |
| Jeddah → Tabuk → Halat Ammar | About 1,200 km north via Madinah and Tabuk | About two days |
| Crossing and clearance | Halat Ammar, then Al Mudawwara | Hours to a day |
| Al Mudawwara → your address | Maan, then the Desert Highway to Amman | One day |
The road from Jeddah is longer than from Riyadh, but it is still faster and cheaper than sea for most furniture shipments. Sea suits a large home or goods that fill a container, or anyone living in Aqaba itself.
Which crossing does your shipment from Jeddah use?
| Saudi → Jordanian crossing | Area | Usually used by shipments from | Closest to |
|---|---|---|---|
| Al Haditha → Al Omari | Al Qurayyat, Al Jouf | Riyadh, Qassim, the Eastern Province and Hail | Amman, Zarqa, Mafraq and Irbid |
| Halat Ammar → Al Mudawwara | Tabuk | Jeddah, Makkah, Madinah and Tabuk | Maan, Aqaba, Karak and Tafilah, then Amman on the Desert Highway |
Jeddah shipments mostly leave through Halat Ammar in Tabuk, the closest crossing to the coastal road and the road via Madinah, leading to Al Mudawwara and then Maan. From Maan the road branches south to Aqaba and north to Karak, Tafilah and Amman.

| Air conditioner, dismantled | Land – shared truck | From SAR 320 |

| Documents and official papers | Air | From SAR 75 |
| Urgent parcels | Air | By weight and size; send them and we reply with the price |
The final price depends on the actual volume: a home that fills half a truck is not priced like one that fills a whole truck, and if you have only a few items, a shared truck saves you a lot. Photograph the rooms and send them, and we will reply with the price and the next departure.
Transit time from Jeddah to Jordan’s governorates
| Governorate in Jordan | Approx. door-to-door time by land |
|---|---|
| Amman, Zarqa, Salt and Madaba | 4 – 6 working days |
| Irbid, Mafraq, Jerash, Ajloun and Ramtha | 5 – 7 working days |
| Karak, Tafilah and Maan | 4 – 7 working days |
| Aqaba | 4 – 7 working days |
The time is counted from loading in Jeddah to delivery at your door. Shipments reach Aqaba and Maan sooner than Irbid, because Halat Ammar is in southern Jordan.
Land or sea from Jeddah to Jordan?
This question only comes up in Jeddah, the one city facing a Jordanian port on the same sea. The difference between the routes:
| Method | Route | Approx. time | When we choose it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Land | Jeddah → Tabuk → Halat Ammar → your address | 4 – 6 working days | Most homes, and a few items on a shared truck |
| Sea | Jeddah Islamic Port → Aqaba port → your address | 7 – 12 days | A large home or goods filling a container, or delivery in Aqaba |
| Air | King Abdulaziz Airport → Queen Alia Airport | 1 – 3 days | Parcels, documents and urgent items |
We compare both routes for you at booking based on your shipment size and the next sailing, as the sailing date sometimes matters more than distance.
Packing furniture in Jeddah

Jeddah’s humidity calls for care in packing, especially for wood and appliances that will travel a long road into a different climate. So we use:
- Moisture-absorbing sachets inside appliance and clothes cartons.
- Plastic wrap on wood once we are sure it is dry, then blankets.
- Protective frames for mirrors, paintings and glass.
- Wooden crates for antiques, chandeliers and heavy fragile pieces.
- Double-wall cartons for dishes, each piece wrapped on its own.
Loading in Jeddah and the truck type
Many Jeddah homes are flats in buildings without large lifts, so we use an external hoist for big pieces when needed. We stack the truck to withstand a road of more than a thousand kilometres: heavy at the bottom, fragile on top, gaps filled and straps tight.

| Truck type | Best for | How it is priced |
|---|---|---|
| Shared truck | One or two rooms, cartons, a few appliances | Per item or per cubic metre |
| Private dyna or medium truck | A small flat or an office | One price for the whole trip |
| 13 m closed trailer | A villa or large home, or furniture with goods | One price for the whole trip |
| Car carrier | One or more cars | Per car, by size |
If you choose sea, the container is loaded at your door or at our warehouse, sealed, the seal number recorded on the bill of lading, and it then enters Jeddah Islamic Port.
Car shipping from Jeddah to Jordan
We collect the car from your home in Jeddah, clean and photograph it, fit a protective cover, then load it onto an enclosed car carrier to Jordan, or put it inside the container with the furniture if shipping by sea.

Jordan sets conditions on importing used cars, the main one being the car’s age counted from its year of manufacture. These conditions are amended by government decisions from time to time, and duties differ between petrol, hybrid and electric cars and by engine size and value. So we send your car’s details to the broker in Jordan before booking and tell you what applies to it, so a car that cannot be cleared never sets off. Its papers from the Kingdom: a valid registration, no fines or liens, an export request through Absher or the traffic department with the plates handed in, the purchase invoice or sale contract, and a copy of your passport and iqama or ID.
If you will drive your own car to Jordan for a visit and bring it back, that is a temporary entry on a customs passbook (carnet/triptyque) and needs no shipping; a permanent move means exporting the car and shipping it on a carrier.
Air freight from Jeddah to Jordan
Air freight from Jeddah to Jordan goes from King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah to Queen Alia Airport in Amman, or King Hussein Airport in Aqaba for some shipments, and usually takes one to three working days.

Air suits what is light and needed quickly:
- Documents, university certificates and official papers.
- Small devices such as laptops and phones in their original boxes.
- Clothes, gifts and personal items you need as soon as you arrive.
- Spare parts and commercial samples.
The price is charged on the greater of actual and volumetric weight, so a large light carton may be charged as if it were heavy. Send us the weight and dimensions and we will work out the chargeable weight for you. Many of our customers send a suitcase of urgent things by air and leave the rest of the home to the truck.
Shipping goods from Jeddah to Jordan
Jeddah is a trading hub, and traders send fabrics, perfumes, packaged food, spare parts and appliances from it to Jordan. Small quantities go on a shared truck, large ones on a full truck or in a sea container to Aqaba, with the commercial invoice, certificate of origin and packing list.
Jeddah districts we collect from
Al Hamra, Al Rawdah, Al Zahra, Al Salamah, Al Naeem, Al Mohammadiyah, North Obhur and South Obhur in the north; Al Safa, Al Marwah, Al Faisaliyah, Al Rabwah and Al Nuzhah in the centre; Al Aziziyah, Al Rehab, Al Samer and Al Ajwad in the east; Al Balad, Al Sharafiyah, Al Kandarah and Al Baghdadiyah; and Al Hamdaniyah, Al Sawari, Al Jamiah, Al Sanabel and Al Khumrah in the south.
Permanent return to Jordan and the customs exemption
If you are a Jordanian returning for good after years in the Kingdom, your household furniture may enter Jordan without customs duties, under conditions set by the Jordan Customs Department, including:
- You have lived outside Jordan for a year or more.
- Proof that your residence in the Kingdom has ended: a cancelled iqama, the end of your work contract or a resignation, a new work contract in Jordan, a certified lease or title deed for a home, or your children’s transfer to Jordanian schools.
- The owner attends in person or by official authorisation, and the husband or wife has arrived in Jordan.
- An original packing list of the furniture, appliances and items.
- The exemption is granted once; anyone who used it and then went back to live abroad cannot get a new one until five years have passed.
- Any furniture that follows later must arrive within six months of your arrival date.
Because the six-month window starts on the day you arrive, we advise shipping the home a few days before you travel or straight after, not putting it off. We write the packing list carefully, as any mismatch between it and the load delays release.
Documents required for shipping to Jordan
- A copy of the sender’s passport and iqama or ID, and a copy of the receiver’s ID in Jordan.
- A numbered packing list with the contents of every carton and item.
- Proof that your residence in the Kingdom has ended, for permanent returnees.
- An authorisation for the clearing company in Jordan.
- For goods: a commercial invoice, certificate of origin and packing list.
- For cars: export papers from the traffic department and the purchase invoice.
What happens at the border?
At the Saudi crossing the export papers are stamped; at the Jordanian crossing the broker takes the file: the packing list, proof that your residence has ended if you are returning, and the car papers if any. The load is then checked and released to continue to your address.
Items outside the exemption, such as commercial goods and new appliances in quantity, are subject to customs duties and Jordanian sales tax, and we explain that before loading, not after.
Do you need insurance?
If your shipment includes a car, expensive appliances or furniture that is hard to replace, insurance is worth its small cost. It is calculated as a percentage of the declared value, and we document every item’s condition with photos during packing, so you have a record to refer to.
What cannot be shipped to Jordan
- Flammable materials, gas cylinders, fuel and paints.
- Weapons, ammunition and anything resembling them.
- Medicines in commercial quantities or without a prescription.
- Fresh food, meat, plants and soil.
- Loose lithium batteries by air.
- Counterfeit goods or anything banned under either country’s rules.
Steps to ship from Jeddah to Jordan
- You send photos or a list of your belongings and the governorate you are moving to in Jordan.

- We review your exemption file if you are returning for good, and the car papers if any.
- The crew arrives on time to dismantle, pack, list and load.
